Will I Develop a DVT with Vein Treatment?

The incidence of developing a deep vein thrombosis after vein treatments is actually very low.

Surgical techniques specifically “Stripping” surgery carry a risk of between 1% to 5% with higher numbers seen in increasing age.

The newer treatments specifically thermal ablation by laser carry a risk of 0.4% which is incredibly low.

In contrast a knee replacement has a 1% risk and hip replacement 0.5% of developing a clot despite being on preventive medication to stop clotting.
