There is this theory, that the taller you get the higher the chance of you developing varicose veins. It is a gravity thing, with expansion seen highest around the ankles therefore predisposing taller individuals to developing varicose veins.

There is an increased risk of taller individuals developing varicose veins then those that are shorter. They have not exactly found the correlation but feel there is a genetic component associated with height and varicose veins.
