Is Discolouration on my Legs Dangerous?

Discolouration or pigmentation is a sign of progression of chronic venous disease. This means that it is more advanced than just varicose veins which is an early feature of chronic vein disease. Alone, pigmentation may not be dangerous but this means it gets closer to the formation of a wound, skin thickening and also scarring that can be permanent. More importantly, when the discolouration is noted this is a more advanced sign of vein disease and often treatment is warranted not merely for cosmetic reasons, but to avoid potential complications as mentioned above.
