How common are varicose veins?

According to the Bonn Vein Study, only 14% of patients sit within the varicose vein category, and up to 59% of patients sit within the spider vein and reticular vein category.

Reticular veins are these greenish veins that do not bulge out a lot, but they kind of sit between what a spider vein is at the lowest end, and a varicose vein is at the highest end.

And if left untreated, these reticular veins can develop into varicose veins.
